Stroke Rate

This describes the number of strokes per minute. In regattas, top boats reach rates of up to 38-44 strokes and maintain a stroke rate of 24-30 in endurance training. An experienced rower has a fine feel for the stroke rate needed in any given situation. We, too, measure the pace and intensity of our work so that we perform at our best.
