Dr. Gion Jegher

Gion Jegher is a member of Prager Dreifuss’ Insolvency & Restructuring, Banking & Finance and Dispute Resolution teams. The Insolvency & Restructuring team advises and represents international and domestic clients, in particular creditors, regarding all questions that arise in connection with impending insolvencies, with reorganizations and restructurings. The Banking & Finance Team advises investors and companies on cross-border project and transaction financing. Particularly in the field of syndicated acquisition financing, Gion Jegher has vast experience. The Dispute Resolution team advises and represents international and domestic clients in a variety of disputes before courts and administrative authorities in Switzerland as well as before international arbitration tribunals. Gion Jegher is an experienced litigator, and has also acted as arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings. Apart from the mentioned areas, he has ample experience in contract law. Gion Jegher is finally a real expert on matters of Private International Law including International Civil Procedure Law. This area of law addresses the issues that arise in cross-border situations, for example in insolvencies of multi-national companies or in cross-border litigations.

After his law studies, Gion Jegher worked as research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Private International Law, Commercial Law and European Law of the University of Basel. He then made a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in the US and wrote an acclaimed Ph.D. thesis in the field of Private International Law. Afterwards Gion Jegher worked as associate at Prager Dreifuss for several years. In the following years Gion Jegher worked as partner in a business law firm and in a small law practice in Zurich.
