Among other things, the author discusses substantive and procedural aspects of the injured party's newly created general direct right of claim against the liability insurer and the injured party's statutory pledge. In addition, the article also considers other legal institutions under insurance contract law and the law of obligations, which can play a role in the relationship between the insurer and the injured party.
